Assessment 1 - Exploratory Stage

Today I had my first assessment in the course. Unfortunately I had some work missing that I was aware of, but the feedback I received was very useful and should help me in the future.

Strengths:

• drawing skills - strong life drawing and accurate perspective study
• good media use and sense of scale in 'outside drawing' sketchbook
• well executed and good presentation of work on A1 sheets
• sensitive use of 3D materials

Weaknesses:

• lack of photographs - use photography to push ideas further
• contextuals study book to be completed
• develop use of colour during next project

The other people in the group thought I should perhaps go down the illustration or fine art route, which is what I have been thinking. We finally settled on Visual Communications probably being the best pathway for me to follow, as although I struggle with generating my own creative ideas, having a brief to give me a vague focus may help me with that.
