I really should have been doing some catch-up work today. Contextual research, Lucian-Freud-style painting, sewing a teapot, that sort of thing..But instead I've spent a number of hours working on this.
I didn't do any more work on the face - I started (and finished?) the watercolour layers of the coat and bagstrap, and have now been working on the background. I'm thinking of spending quite a bit more time on the surroundings to make it quite detailed in watercolour, before adding the final touches of colour pencils.. Gee whiz, I've got a while to go...
No regrets.
